Another couple of Dr. Seuss ideas

Read the Lorax.  Talk to them about the importance of taking care of not only the outside world, but the inside as well.  Talk about treating things with respect because if they break or die, there may not always be another one to replace it.

Fun activities to do with the Lorax:
Take a clear cup and decorate it.  Use potting soil and grass seeds.  Make a chart together to show how and when they should take care of their plant.  Let them see that their hard work is paying off.

It has been a while...

Well, it has been awhile since I blogged.  This school year has been tough.  I decided to try out some different school systems by subbing and in the end, I realize I need to be in my Christian schools.  I miss the family and overall learning atmosphere.  I miss my wee ones.  Sooooo I am on the hunt to return to my little ones in a nice solid Christian school.  It may not be this year, so I will be blogging some fun stuff to do at home with your child.  Thanks for popping in and checking.

This week I will be posting some great Dr. Seuss fun:  Enjoy!
Have a great week and I hope to post good news in the future.

Green Eggs and Ham is a big hit:  After you read, make some scrambled eggs with green food coloring and throw some chunks of ham in the pan.  Ask them if they like Green Eggs and Ham.

Bartholomew and the Ooblek is so fun! You can read it or find it on youtube.  Here is the recipe for Ooblek.
Ooblek Supplies:
  • 1 pound corn starch (one small box)
  • about 10 drops green food coloring
  • about 1 1/2 cups water
